I am a longtime firm believer that adults should be the best role model they can be for their children. A good option is to not drink! But if you do then keep it to a minimum. The occasional beer with a backyard barbecue or wine with a holiday dinner. Kid calls for a ride home - drunk? Pick him/her up. No lectures. Lectures aren't needed if you are a good example.
